Nova Fencing Academy

We found no dated price list from the academy or elsewhere. Ask for trial, group and private fees before you go, whether you pay per class, per term or by membership, and whether competition entries or your own kit cost extra.

Nova coaches children, teenagers and adults. Classes run from warm-up and footwork to blade work, drills and controlled sparring, with kit checks and goals by level. There are trial lessons, group classes by age and level, and private coaching.

Its FAQ says most children can start at about age five, depending on focus, coordination and confidence, and beginners need no experience. Newcomers can borrow academy kit in trial and beginner classes. Sessions last 60 to 120 minutes depending on programme and age.

• Give the student's age, any fencing experience, the day you prefer and whether you need to borrow kit.
• Opening hours are 10:00-20:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00-19:00 at weekends; ask when your class actually starts.
