If you only read one thing: start with Horseshoe Point for an ordinary riding enquiry and Thai Polo & Equestrian Club for polo, eventing or competition-specific access. That is a fit decision, not a ranking. Both venues are active in Pong, east of the beach districts, and both require direct confirmation because neither publishes a complete current public riding tariff.
The equestrian directory contains these two records. A useful differentiator is transaction clarity. Horseshoe Point’s riding-school page names formats that a general visitor can ask for. Thai Polo’s site documents a much larger specialist complex and several polo products, but the access process is more likely to depend on the rider, horse, event and date. A large estate or prestigious facility does not by itself make a casual booking easier.
Horseshoe Point for the ordinary riding enquiry
Horseshoe Point is at 100 Moo 9 in Pong. Its current riding-school page lists private lessons, group lessons, trail rides and pony rides. Those four labels are useful because they let a reader ask for the right product. A lesson is instruction; a trail ride is a route-based experience; a pony ride may have different age, height and supervision rules. Do not ask only for “horse riding” and assume the answer covers all four.
The site’s current contact page publishes +66 38 735 050, while the live Maps identity lists +66 63 994 7165. The venue record retains both rather than choosing one as silently more authoritative. Use the operator number first for a riding enquiry and keep the live-listing number as a second route if the first is unanswered. Ask staff to send the exact meeting point because the resort and equestrian facilities occupy a broader property than a single street-front shop.
Current operation is supported by more than an old resort page. A federation schedule approved for 13–15 March 2026 identifies the showground as Chonburi–HSP, gives a Horseshoe Point email contact and documents an outdoor CSI1* competition. The schedule specifies a 55-by-75-metre sand competition arena and a 20-by-63-metre sand practice arena. Those figures describe the named competition setup. They do not establish the arena used for a tourist lesson or the condition of a surface on another date.
No current public lesson fee, trail-ride price, pony-ride price, weekly timetable or non-resident booking policy was published during the latest check. Horseshoe Point is therefore the more straightforward first enquiry, not a guaranteed walk-in. Send the rider’s age, experience, approximate height and weight, preferred date and desired format. Ask whether a beginner assessment is required and whether an event blocks normal riding access.
Thai Polo for specialist polo and equestrian use
Thai Polo & Equestrian Club publishes a much broader competition and club footprint. The operator states that the property covers more than 2,000 rai, approximately 250 hectares. Its facilities page lists three full-sized polo fields, two practice fields, cross-country and eventing courses, stables and an equine clinic. The about page also documents more than 250 stables and describes horses available for members and guests.
Those numbers show scale, not visitor eligibility. The live Maps listing gives 08:00–17:00 Tuesday to Sunday and Monday closed, but opening hours do not mean a polo lesson, trail ride, clubhouse visit or competition is available throughout that window. The operator’s contact page separates polo and equestrian enquiries and publishes a named Thai equestrian contact. Use the correct channel and state the intended activity.
The club’s polo page describes a progression from lessons into beginner chukkas, club chukkas and a weekend polo clinic. It also describes a trail ride across the property. A beginner chukka is not necessarily a first-ever riding lesson: the operator says it follows lessons and introduces players to a small game format. A weekend clinic combines morning lesson time with afternoon chukkas. Ask what prior riding competence is required before treating either as a beginner product.
The competition evidence is current. The official 2025/26 material lists Thai Polo Open and Queen’s Cup Pink Polo dates, and an FEI-approved schedule documents competition at Thai Polo Club House 1 in February 2026. Event evidence helps a spectator or competitor distinguish an active venue from a dormant listing. It still does not create a standing public calendar after those dates. Neither venue publishes a current ordinary visitor tariff that can support a numeric side-by-side table. Horseshoe Point does not show lesson, pony-ride or trail-ride rates. Thai Polo does not show lesson, chukka, clinic, trail-ride, membership or spectator prices. Blank price fields mean unknown, not free and not necessarily expensive.
Competition documents may contain entry fees for registered athletes and horses. Those are event-administration products governed by federation rules; they are not evidence of the cost of a lesson or casual ride. Likewise, a hotel room or resort package should not be treated as including riding unless the operator names that inclusion for the exact booking.
Request a written quote with the activity name, session duration, number of riders, instruction level, horse provision, helmet and boot arrangements, taxes, deposit, cancellation rule and weather policy. For polo, add horse hire, tack, groom support, chukka count and the rider standard required. A complete expensive quote can be easier to compare than a low headline number with most essentials omitted.

Existing rider: choose by discipline. Ask Horseshoe about the relevant lesson format and arena; ask Thai Polo about polo, eventing, cross-country or competition-specific use. Send an honest experience summary. “Experienced” can mean very different things in trail riding, dressage, show jumping and polo.
Polo learner or player: Thai Polo is the purpose-built enquiry. Name whether you need an introductory lesson, beginner chukkas, club chukkas or a weekend clinic. Confirm whether the programme supplies the horse and equipment and whether the stated contact still handles the selected product.
Spectator: choose an exact dated event rather than visiting during general Maps hours. Thai Polo’s current-season pages and the federation schedules provide event evidence; Horseshoe’s March 2026 schedule documents recent show-jumping use. After an event date passes, it is evidence of operation, not a future ticket.
Family with mixed interests: the riding decision should still be made rider by rider. A child’s pony product, an adult lesson and a spectator programme can have different eligibility and timings. Both records are in Pong within the wider East Pattaya belt, but their addresses and gates are different. Horseshoe Point is at 100 Moo 9. Thai Polo is at 111 Polo Drive, Moo 9. A shared district does not prove the properties are adjacent, share an entrance or use the same route around an event.
The Thai Polo contact page publishes driving directions via Route 36 and Bira Racing Circuit, plus an alternative approach through Soi Siam Country Club and Mabprachan Reservoir. Those directions are more useful than a generic “near Pattaya” label, but a current map pin and staff confirmation should control.
