This is a guests' gym and spa, not a public gym. The hotel lists no pass for outside visitors and no gym hours.

IHG's amenities page lists a fitness centre, three outdoor lagoon-style pools, a beach and Amburaya Spa. The pools are Spirituality Lagoon, Splash Lagoon and Serenity Pool; Splash Lagoon is the shallow one for children. Sun beds, service, towels and water are provided.

These are holiday pools, with no lane lengths or set lap-swim times. The gym is listed but with no equipment, trainers, classes or lockers described.

Amburaya Spa has six private treatment suites for one person or couples, with hydrotherapy, sauna and steam bathing. Treatments include body scrubs, wraps, facials, foot baths, reflexology and therapy baths.

• Pools open 07:00-20:00 daily; gym and spa hours are not published.
• Guests: at check-in, ask where the gym is, its hours, and about towels, water, changing rooms and any age limit.
• Non-guests: get access, full price, what is included and the date confirmed in writing before you travel.
• Spa: ask whether to book ahead and which sauna, steam or hydrotherapy facilities come with your treatment.
